The field of labour relations and labour rights covers matters concerning the status, rights and responsibilities of workers at work and arising from work, incomes policy and arrangements for the system of salaries, collective contracts and arrangements for relations with social partners, the system of pensions and disability insurance, and safety at work.

In the current mandate, the ministry will prepare two key laws, laying down new arrangements for the rights and responsibilities of workers and employers and their mutual relations. These are the Employment Relationships Act and the Collective Agreements Act.
