The Section’s area of activity covers the drafting of acts and other regulations concerning general arrangements of individual employment relationships and the co-operation with other line Ministries in drafting individual sectoral laws when they affect the field of labour or employment relationships.
The Section issues permits to allow night work of female workers in manufacturing and construction, deals with administrative matters within the Section’s area of activity and prepares expert opinions and positions, analyses, reports and other material concerning individual employment relationships. As regards international activities, the Section monitors and analyses the requirements of conventions and recommendations adopted in the field of labour by the International Labour Organisation, EU directives and the European Social Charter. The Section drafts acts and other regulations and expert opinions relevant to the field of collective labour law and social dialogue (collective agreements, trade union law, workers’ participation in management, strike arrangements) and harmonises them with the EU legislation. It is involved in wage policy agreements for private sector, drafts social contract proposals and co-ordinates and drafts legislation concerning minimum wage. It monitors general collective agreements and collective agreements for industries or sectors, registers collective agreements, representativeness of trade unions and employers and is the second instance appellate body. It prepares reviews and analyses concerning labour and is involved in international co-operation.
