Anja Kopač Mrak, D.Sc., new Minister and Dejan Levanič, new State Secretary at MOLFSA

National Assembly appointed Anja Kopac Mrak, D.Sc., on 20 March 2013 as a Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. Government of the Republic of Slovenija on 25 March 2013 appointed Dejan Levanič as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.

Anja Kopac Mrak was born on 4 April 1974 in Kranj, where she completed high school. She graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Sociology - human resources management. In 2004 she received her PhD in the field of social policy, where she dealt with issues related to the reform of the welfare state. She is Assistant Professor of Sociology and a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences. She teaches Sociology of Social Policy, European Social Policy and takes part in the course on Labour and Social Law. She is the author of several scientific works in the field of social and employment policies, including a book entitled "Activation - turn in social policy".


Anja Kopac Mrak was a State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs from 2008 to 2012.


Dejan Levanič was born on 9 May 1981 in Ptuj, where he finished high school. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Maribor as a professor of sociology and philosophy. At the time he was an active member of the SOU Maribor. After graduation he was employed at Talum d. d. Kidričevo, and in 2008 was elected to the National Assembly. He held this position until the end of 2011, then re-employed by the Talum d. d., Kidričevo.
